About Me

I’m an award-winning children’s author and a seasoned public relations professional with over a decade of experience. As the founder and owner of PR From The Heart—one of the leading publicity firms in the KidLit community—I serve children’s book authors worldwide, connecting them with the media to amplify their platforms and voices, and reach parents, educators, and librarians with their inspiring stories. My work blends a love of storytelling with a dedication to nurturing children’s emotional and spiritual wellness, establishing me as a trusted voice in the world of children’s literature.

My career began in an unexpected—and deeply meaningful—way as the host of the award-winning wrestling radio show Monday Night Mayhem. For over a decade, I partnered with the Child Life Department at Children’s Hospital in Buffalo to create unforgettable moments for young patients. Whenever top wrestling promotions—including WWE—came to town, I brought these larger-than-life superstars together with children facing serious health challenges, bringing joy, hope, and strength during their darkest days.

These treasured encounters planted the seeds for my dream of building a children’s hospice in San Diego—a space that combines the compassionate care of hospice with the uplifting spirit of a Child Life Department. A place where terminally ill children can meet their favorite athletes, musicians, authors, and professional wrestlers before they transition—a sanctuary of love, laughter, and peace in their final moments.

Forever Grateful To My Babcia

The passing of my beloved grandmother, “Babcia,” marked a profound turning point in my life—one that sparked a spiritual awakening and transformed my approach to storytelling. Her memory fuels my mission to bring hope and healing to children and families facing illness, grief, and loss.

My personal journey serves as the foundation for my new award-winning children’s book, Walking Each Other Home—Zachary’s Mission: A Hospice for Children. This deeply moving story about empathy, self-discovery, and the power of community offers young readers and their families guidance for navigating difficult times with courage and strength.

My storytelling extends beyond the written word. As the host of The Children’s Books Spotlight Series—one of the longest-running podcasts in children’s literature—I highlight heartfelt stories and the authors behind them, amplifying the impact of the KidLit community. Alongside David Newell (who played the iconic Mr. McFeely on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood), I co-host The Neighborly Reviews Bookcast—a popular children’s book review podcast that inspires a love of reading in young children and empowers them to ignite their imaginations through the magic of books.

I draw daily inspiration from Mister Rogers, who taught generations of children that they are loved and special just the way they are. Fred’s gentle, compassionate teachings continue to resonate with me, both as a writer and as an advocate for children’s literacy.

Currently residing in San Diego, California, with my cherished Shih Tzu/Maltese, Little Forrest, I remain deeply involved in my community. My work is driven by a belief that by nurturing connections, fostering empathy in children, and creating supportive spaces through the power of storytelling, we can collectively create a world of unconditional love and understanding.
